POLITRICKS 2016: Lies and Deceit By Governor Adams Aliu Eric Oshiomhole To Edo People!!!

It is a retrogressive move for a government to keep blackmailing and propagandizing cheap votes with empty promises out of its citizens. And it is most sad when some of these citizens deliberately and ignorantly let themselves to be deceived and used for personal profits and benefits. During the just concluded presidential election, I was in queue awaiting my turn to vote when a guy in front of me said these words; "the only reason I came out to vote for APC is because of the Egor road that Adams Oshiomhole is working on." Others applauded and consented and conversation and comparisons spewed. But I just shook my head at the height of ignorance. After the first four(4) years amid so many uncompleted projects, he vigorously fought for a re election, and in the wake of the election, he mobilized tractors and machines to all the sites of abandoned projects and came out with these cheap words "let the good work continue."
What can be said of these works eight(8) years after? The man that boasted about Egor road, how is he feeling now, that project already abandoned. All over the state, there are evidence of so much uncompleted projects that were begun in 2008! What has this government truly achieved and where is it leading the EDO nation?
Elections are just around the corner again, and that same act, which was used to deceive us four(4) years ago, is coming to play again. As we speak, these things are being carried out to massively gain cheap support and votes again!
1. Contractors are being mobilized to all sites whose projects had been previously abandon to win praise and admiration from the poor ignorant citizens of this state. If these cheap cosmetic projects that were started eight(8) years ago continue now, will they sustain the people's vision or appease a selfish idea? These projects after elections would still be dropped or abandoned again because the funds for their completion had been embezzled!

2. There is a cheap plan to increase workers salaries. All these years, these same workers had fought tooth and nail with a man who had once fought for workers and their welfare! As we speak, some workers are still owed, pensioners likewise. Why will he increase salaries now if not for selfish interests...

3. Massive employment into the remaining epileptic ministries and parastatals after many years of short staffing and suffering of the workers. Also, this massive employment will create problems for the next government as there would be no means of sustaining the payment of their salaries. A cheap move that will attract immediate praise and support but will wreak havoc on the state in no distant time.

4. There is also a plan to reinstate the 15,000 sacked workers so as to garnish more support! Why were they sacked in the first place? It also beat my imagination that as a unionist, he advocated against casual workers. Would that mean he had selfishly gone against his beliefs and that of a whole union?

It may surprise you to know that the YES scheme which started in 2009 had graduates with masters degree going home every month end with a pantry sum of N30,000 while in government house there is a task-force made up of 'agberos' that earn N80,000 monthly. The government has succeeded in destroying the psychological thinking of the youths were people now celebrate mediocres and sidelining merit. This is a government that has turned cult groups into recruitment centres. These cult groups use that as a platform to initiate new members and engage them in collecting Taxes.

Deceit and lies had always been incumbent in this government. If these must stop, then we need to open our eyes and grow above instantaneous but destructive promises and deceit. We must see a cheat for who he is and resist him at all cost. Some of these, mention deceitful Plans are already coming into play.... We must stand our ground for what is wrong, and work tirelessly to achieve what is right. Cheap votes and accolades had gotten us nowhere. When a cheap girl wears make up, she is pretty, but when the make up wears off, she is then exposed as who she truly is. That is the very state of our beloved EDO nation. When these cosmetics projects wear off, we will be left with a much more battered EDO. We need to think, to act, but above all, WE NEED TO RISE!!!
