THE POLITICAL FLOPS!!!

Decamping is a political term for the movement of persons from one political party to another. Normally, on the occasion of decamping, a party is supposed to be joyed while the other in tears. But when both parties are joyed, then the elements that decamped have to be reviewed. Unfortunately, that review will come at its own time. For now, we are taking a critical look at the motive behind their jumping the band wagon.

It is a pity that the very popular People's Democratic Party is verbosely known by the Edo people for what they may have done wrong in the past(which are majorly lies) and not what they truly stand for and their achievements, both in the past and present.

These known but irrelevant politicians that decamped recently, lifted a lot of burdens(as regards betrayal and distrust) from the party's shoulders. Ironically, these are men that the ruling party has strongly spoken against and castigated, are being welcomed with smiles amid heavy feasting into their fold! Does it make sense?

In my candid opinion which I had expressed a thousand times before now, the ruling party do not need these men if something shady is not going on. The puzzle then is, Who approached Who? Was it these men that approached the ruling party or the ruling party went to them?

Considering the fact that the opposition(PDP) is already mounting a lot of pressure on the ruling party, awaiting the 2016 gubernatorial election. It is very logical that the ruling party approached some members of the opposition party but it was these men who fell for their empty propaganda. If the ruling party didn't approach them, I think what they should have done is send them back to their party and expose them for the traitors and cowards that they are, not welcome them with smiles and open arms, considering the fact and popular cliche that it was the opposition party that killed the state. So why the sudden change of heart and the uproar that they(APC) have caged or weakened the opposition(PDP)? If you are sincere to yourselves, you will know that they have only succeeded in making the opposition(PDP) stronger(by siphoning their traitors and 'chicken-livered' members), and made themselves weaker by willingly buying traitors who will never cease to be traitors!

Did I just say buy? Yes I said buy and it is for a reason. Was it a coincident that these men decamped at exactly when the second tranche of the world bank loan came? Every calculating and speculative citizen of age, will know that coincidence is not the case. It was a very calculated attempt and since these men as established earlier did not go to the ruling party, then some things must have exchanged hands, for them to so willingly and over-nightly become, without the normal signs of decamping members of APC, I think that explains the buy and this gave me another idea.

If they were truly bought, then where did the hard and ready cash came from? Sincerely, I exhausted all the possible means and avenues that this gargantuan sum of money had come from. First, APC national is broke and recovering from their hard earned victory against PDP, three months ago at the presidential election. The country is grounded at the moment, they claimed they met an empty treasury. Also they had just managed to cough out bail out funds for states which Edo state also received. So the money didn't come from APC national. Secondly, our dear state's treasury is empty as a result, the huge debts we are owing and the almost abandoned projects all over the state. Thirdly, the money could have come from an individual, but who? Who could have boasted of too much money to single-handedly buy three PDP chieftains and their followers? That leaves just one more means, the last and most possible I suppose. The loan! 75million US Dollars (14.1 Billion Naira)!!!

One would expect that as the second tranche came, work would have sprung out again across the state to complete the uncompleted works. Since this is not done, it makes it all the more suspicious that there is something fishy going on with the loan. The timely decamping confirms it, which if it is as it seem, will not augur well with the developmental strides of the state. The loan was supposed to be for the completion of projects across the state, which wouldn't have been enough anyway because, there are so many of them, water storm as just one! There is barely time left for any work to be done, as election and party primaries which will overwhelm the entire state is fast approaching.

Hmmmm, I want to hang up here, but with two topical and conscientious questions, the fact being that, work may never go on again, and we would be too busy to notice!

Question One: what was the loan really meant for, considering the billions or added to the billions already accumulated as debts?
Question Two: will there be more decampees, with so much more money to spend frivolously?

I leave you with these as I remain your one and only;
