THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF CHIEF LUCKY IGBINEDION AS GOVERNOR. 1999-2007.

I did a research on the previous Lucky's government which this current government has always lambasted. He Received 198billlion Naira between 1999-2007 as IGR and allocation. Adams Oshiomhole has so far received 712billion naira in 7years. This is the persons who think Chief Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion did nothing while he was governor of the state. Edo State Solid Minerals Processing Company Ltd.

Edo State Solid Minerals Processing Company Limited is located at lpesi in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State. Its foundation stone was laid in October 2000. The Company was finally test-run and commissioned on May 25th 2001 by His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The sum of N85 million was spent by the State Government in establishing the Company.

Edo State Fertilizer and Chemical Co. Ltd.

The foundation stone of the Fertilizer and chemical company was laid at Auchi in May 2000 by the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. The project was established to blend NPIL fertilizer primarily to help farmers in the enrichment of the soil to improve agricultural yields. The location of the project was informed by the raw materials; availability in Edo North senatorial District of Edo state.

 Edo State Fruit Juice processing Company, Ehor.

The idea to set up a factory for the extraction of juice from fruits at Ehor stemmed from the abundance of fruits required as raw material for such a factory.

Cassava Processing Company Limited lromi

The cassava processing Company Limited is located at Uromi, the headquarters of Esan North East Local Government Area, Edo State. The need to harness the vast agricultural establishment resource of the state informed the desire to establish the agro-processing industry’

ln order to reduce poverty and create employment, the State Government disburses small scale loans to person. Nine hundred and ninety-two (992) persons across the state were granted loans totalling up to N50,426,000 in the seven years.

Micro Credit (motor Bikes)

Two hundred and fifty (250) N21,140,357.50 were given out as micro-credit support.

Seminars, Council Meetings, Trade Fairs And Investment Promotions.

ln the seven years of the administration, the State Government conducted seminars, council meetings, trade fair and investment promotions.

As you can see, all the projects here were set up primarily to create jobs for our teeming youths

EDUCATION SECTOR

• 500 seater lecture theatre at AAU, Ekpoma.

• Hostel accommodation for students in AAU

• Increased the subvention to AAU from N15M to N120M per annual

• 500 seater lecture theatre at Ekiadolor College of Education, Ekiadolor

• Re-established college of Education, Igueben 2003

• Establish Usen Polytechnic, Usen in 2002 from scrach.

• College of Agriculture, Iguoriakhi

• Employed 3600 teachers in PBEB and SUBEB. 

How about Edo line, Edo courier, Bendel brewery- makers of crystal beer and malt? Lucky paid bursary, and Okhoro dam was still functioning. Chief lucky built human capital.!!!
